Owning a 2005+ Subaru Impreza WRX STi isn’t all smiles and boost. There are a few things that are prone to failure, luckily all of them are well known.
1.) Inner CV Boot on passenger side likes to die at 55k miles
2.) Stock Pistons aren’t bulletproof and can have failure under poor tuning conditions
3.) Oil Pickup failure
#1 There isn’t much you can do except enjoy the car and fix it when it finally decides to tear
#2 Get a good tune as soon as possible, don’t risk a poor tune even for a few highway pulls, get a pro tune and enjoy the car.
#3 Oil pickup failure isn’t something to be taken lightly, unfortunately if and when this failure happens the engine is toast. The Oil Pickup will crack, and it will no longer do its job. The crack will starve the engine of oil and you will cause catastrophic damage. Luckily, there is a solution. Killer B Motorsport developed a more robust Oil Pickup that wont crack!

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Pete @ EFI Logics located in Bethel Connecticut about their 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Racecar.
A friend of mine tagged t3hClap  on an EFI Logics post about cheap race tires. Me being always in the market to reduce my expenditures on tires I shot Pete an Email. Unfortunately they were only looking to sell the tires locally. I did get a chance to ask Pete some questions about their awesome EFI Logics Race Car they’ve been running for a few years now. Below is that little chat. Read on and enjoy a few snap shots. The guys over at EFI Logics know how to build STi’s.
Clap: What is the Year, Make and Model of the EFI Logics Race Car?
Pete@EFI: It’s a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi.
Clap: Every EFI car has a name, what’s the Race Cars name?
Pete@EFI: To be clear, Rob, our engine tech names all of his engines so he can keep track of modifications and engine specs – it’s a memory cue for him. This car’s engine’s name is Ari.

If any of you guys follow me on instagram @t3hclap you’ll notice I was getting all excited over a picture posted by @kent_enkei_Wheels_jp. After I saw the wheel I did some digging. I knew Enkei had a few new wheels up their sleeves but this one really stands out.
The Enkei RS05RR. It comes in 3 different faces and some very nice size options. It’s good to see Enkei come out with an 18×11!!

AutoX @ Orange County Convention Center hosted by Central Florida Region SCCA on Oct 22nd 2011.
This is my first run of the day, and there is no question I got lost. You’ll notice I nearly come to a stand still after one of the chicago boxes. I was looking ahead and I was unsure of which way to go. Luckily I chose the right direction. Final time for the run was 55.958 my slowest by time by over 9 seconds. I also was playing with wind noise reduction today, gain is set below 10 and I taped some microphone foam over the microphone. Its an improvement over nothing, but it isn’t perfect yet. As you’ll see there were a few cones in my way I decided to run over, i took one of them all the way back to grid.
