We’re back again with more Brembo clearance info. The Enkei RPF1 is a popular wheel choice, it comes in many different sizes. Unfortunately many of the popular sizes don’t clear the STI Brembo calipers. We’ve already gone over what’s needed to clear the 17×9 +35mm, 17×9.5 +38mm, and 18×10 +38mm. Next on the list is the Enkei RPF1 18×9.5 +38mm. For the 18×9.5 +38mm Enkei RPF1 to clear the STI Brembos you’ll need an 8mm spacer. Luckily for the Subaru owners not running Brembos no spacers are required.
Fitting an 18×9.5 +38mm with an 8mm spacer making it an effective +30mm isn’t easy. It requires a good amount of fender work up front on the GD and both the GD and GR/GV platforms require increased camber. On a GD you should expect to run at least -3.5 front camber, on the GR/GV people are getting away with -2.5 front.
The rears do not need a spacer so fitting the rears is just fender work and an 18×9.5 +38mm is feasible on both the GD and GR/GV although with significantly different types of work.
How many people out there are running the 18×9.5 +38mm RPF1 these days?
